COOKIE POLICY

The website uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure the proper functioning of procedures and improve the user experience of online applications. This document provides detailed information about the use of cookies and similar technologies, how they are used, and how to manage them.

DEFINITIONS

Cookies are short pieces of text (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the client (the browser) to be reused during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or later, even after several days (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, based on user preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone). Similar technologies, such as web beacons, transparent GIFs, and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to collect information about user behavior and the use of services. In this document, we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies simply as "cookies."

TYPES OF COOKIES

Based on the characteristics and use of cookies, we can distinguish several categories:
Strictly necessary cookies: These are essential cookies for the proper functioning of the site and are used to manage login and access to reserved site functions. The duration of these cookies is strictly limited to the working session (they are deleted when the browser is closed). They are used on the site.
Analytics and performance cookies: These are cookies used to collect and analyze traffic and site usage anonymously. These cookies, even without identifying the user, allow, for example, to detect if the same user reconnects at different times. They also allow monitoring the system and improving its performance and usability. Disabling these cookies can be done without any loss of functionality.
Profiling cookies: These are permanent cookies used to identify user preferences (anonymously or not) and improve their browsing experience.

THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

When visiting a website, you may receive cookies both from the visited site ("first-party") and from sites managed by other organizations ("third parties"). A notable example is the presence of "social plugins" for Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by those sites and integrated into the hosting site's page. The most common use of social plugins is for content sharing on social networks.
The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites managed by third parties. The management of information collected by "third parties" is governed by their respective privacy policies, which you should refer to. To ensure greater transparency and convenience, below are the web addresses of the different information and cookie management methods.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

The website also includes certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). In this case as well, these are third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies).
Google Analytics uses "cookies" to collect and analyze anonymous information about site usage behavior (including the user's IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it to compile reports for website operators regarding activities on their websites. This site does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) Google's analytics tool to monitor or collect personally identifiable information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data owned by Google, nor does it try to link an IP address with a user's identity. Google may also communicate this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. For more information, please refer to the following link: https://www.google.it/policies/privacy/partners/
Users can selectively disable the action of Google Analytics by installing the opt-out component provided by Google on their browser. To disable Google Analytics, please refer to the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

COOKIE DURATION

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the logout command is executed. Other cookies "survive" the browser closure and are available for subsequent user visits.
These cookies are called persistent cookies, and their duration is determined by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases, there is an expiration date, while in others, the duration is unlimited. However, while browsing the website pages, it is possible to interact with third-party sites that can create or modify permanent and profiling cookies.

COOKIE MANAGEMENT

Users can decide whether to accept or reject cookies by using their browser settings.
Note: The total or partial disabling of technical cookies may compromise the use of features reserved for registered users on the website. On the other hand, it is still possible to access public content even with cookies completely disabled. Disabling "third-party" cookies does not affect the website's navigability in any way. Specific settings can be defined for different websites and web applications. Additionally, the best browsers allow users to define different settings for "proprietary" cookies and "third-party" cookies.
As an example, in Firefox, through the Tools -> Options -> Privacy menu, users can access a control panel where they can define whether to accept or reject different types of cookies and proceed with their removal.
